"Loud Bark Harmonica Microphones From Australia !"

These are the BEST harp mics that I have ever had the pleasure of playing!

  • "Loudbark" harmonica microphones are hand made in Australia from Australian woods and these include Australian Redgum from the Murray River Region , Blackheart Sassafrass from Tasmania , the very rare Jarrah from South Western Australia , Black Wattle from Southern Australia and their favourite timber for Mics , Australian Cypress from Northern Victoria. These mics are made by a husband and wife team , Rowan makes the mics and Michelle paints them to order , anything you want on it . I asked to have the Mr. Natural logo painted on mine , I have the tattoo on my left shoulder . "Loudbark" mics have a web page at http://www.myspace.com/loudbarkmics and a new website that is still under construction at http://www.loudbark.net

It took a couple of weeks for my mic to get here and was the wait ever worth it . It is smaller than the picture which makes it so easy for that tight grip/cup to get that nasty/dirty Chicago tone . This dynamic element mic runs right down the middle of the road , not too pronounced in the lows or highs , which makes it suitable for any kind of amp or straight into the pa system . I was so INSPIRED when I first started playing it , well , I played for 2 hours straight . This is the HOTTEST dynamic element mic on the planet . When ya cup this baby as airtight as ya can , the tone gets mean and nasty but still clean sounding and plenty of note separation . Loosen the grip and it resembles a vocal mic , is this thing infused with magic or the baddest MOJO known to mankind ?

Whenever I am doing very deep inhale warbles and I start to bend them down and back , well , I have never heard or felt (that's right-the thrill of playing this mic runs chills thru my body) a mic that picked up every little nuance and change in attack like the "Loudbark" harmonica mic . I can have the tubes in my amp cooking and start hitting those inhale octaves ,ooo wee , it sounds like a B-3 organ amplified ! When ya do these octaves extra hard it reminded me of a Cathedral Church organ , I am so excited and thrilled with my new "Loudbark" mic . Man , it will make the walls vibrate !

The strength of the mic is it's ability to sound like a quality vocal microphone ( uncupped or at least lightly ) when the amp is not pushed . Push that amp a bit and squeeze that mic like you are climbing a rope up Mt. Everest and your TONE will be just as big and bad as you want it . I tell you what sounds HUGE thru this mic ( with the amp pushed ) is saying on the inhale on holes 1-2-3 (all three at the same time) is da-da-da-da-da-(say as many as you can) all while not having a super tight seal with your lips on the harp-let some air come in around the harp-after your lungs are full-blow out into holes 1-2-3 as you move over to a inhale warble on holes 4&5 . It sounds so huge and powerful . For this I like using a Low-F or A Harmonica .

This mic cuts through the mix and projects better than anything out there . The "Loudbark" mic inspires me to go into new territory playing and technique wise . The dynamics are off the hook !!! If there is anything such as a fine tuned mic and high end as well , ya have it all here for only $139.00 in US currency . Wood does make a difference ! A high end guitar resonates and sustains better because of the quality/characteristics of the chosen wood . My harps of preference are still Hardwood Harmonicas made from different hardwoods (the cover plates ).

The gain and sound with this mic is not the same as some other , shall I say , honking cookie cutter ceramic/crystal mics . You don't just have a wall of sound with too much distortion . The sound from the "Loudbark" mic is like a powerful wave coming over you and soaking you to your soul with a sound that is like Blues Angels singing in heaven . As in the Frankenstein movie , the mad Dr. sez , "It's Alive"! This mic is an organic living being , could this be an invasion from outerspace ? If so, I am happy they are here !

When I first got this mic about a month ago (I wanted to be concrete on my review opinions) this mic was so out of my league of what I was use to , it took this many weeks for me to completely absorb what it could do . But now I am sure about it , DAMNED POSITIVE ! This is the best mic on the planet ! I give this mic my highest award , a (7) Harp salute . And I would also like to bestow something on the "Loudbark" mic that I have not done in years , it also gets my coveted "Nasty Harp" award for being just that when played thru a hot tube amp .
